It would have been nice to call this one Entire Butt but that’s
another story. The original design for this porter involved a
scoundrel hanging from a noose on Combe Gibbet. Unfortunately
the first unknowing landlord ordered the beer which just happened
to coincide with a wake in his pub. Unfortunately the poor chap
had hung himself, so an alternative was sought. Some time earlier
a bloke that did paintings on the back of leather jackets had
created the ‘jester with attitude’ which at the time we really
liked but it didn’t fit in with the other brewery logo but after
Barbus Barbus what the hell!
